Joshua Tree National Park - APRIL 2024
Been a while since I was out on the Goldwing.. Actually several years. Â The bike was layed up in my Garage, while I was searching an electrical problem. Â One thing led to another and then next think I know it's been years. Â Well, time to get back to living.
Traveled out to the So Calif Desert and headed to Joshua Tree National Park. Â It's so close to Huntington Beach.... Less than 150 miles from the Beach. Â Traveled out on a Tuesday and made the trip in less than 3 hours. Â Headed to 29 Palms to the Motel 6. Â I do live quite luxuriously, don't you know. Â I've stayed there before and it is very convenient to the National Park....
Headed to the Park on Wednesday, took all of the paved roads... Weather was perfect springtime, mid-week not too many tourists. Â The Park was lovely. Â Rock formations are incredible... lots of folks visit to practice rock -boulder climbing. Â The Joshua trees are interesting.... even after they have died and their bleached trunks lay in the sun. Â There is a grove of Chollo Cactus, I think that is the name.... man those are some of the most aggressive thorns on planet earth. Â When you get too close they seem to jump on to your skin.... and not let go. Â The pictures are below.... the Vista from the 1000 foot viewpoint back into the Palm Springs Valley is stunning. Â Look closely to the pictures you can see the famous windmill farm at the valley entrance.
